Support and info line -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I . Idea of the software -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To 1sts "MB for AutoCAD" MB for AutoCAD is a design environment for using the MB Building Kit System within the AutoCAD system. The program allows the user to design constructions quickly and flexibly from the components of the MB Building Kit System and to prepare the relevant parts lists. Integrated into the AutoCAD CAD system, the program can be called up and exited by key stroke using the familiar menu. It is not necessary to change the tablet menu. The self explanatory graphical user interface, window technology and pop-up menus ensure easy handling and steep learning curves. > 2D Parts Library The designer can access 2D geometries of the components in the MB Building Kit System. > MB Data Base In addition to component-related information services, default values and check mechanisms are provided to simplify the work process and reduce sources of error. > Module alternatives To simplify the design process, specific individual components have been combined into modules. These modules can be integrated into the design by entering a minimum of parameters. The relevant parts-list information is updated automatically. > Parts list (semi-automatic) The generated graphic contains both geometry data and all the information required for generating the parts list. item components selected by the user can be compiled into a parts list. Consecutive numbering of the various parts is performed automatically. These numbers can be transferred to the drawing or incorporated into the MB Catalogue/Product Master Guide program. Here the parts list can be edited and printed out for the ordering process. > 3D Parts Library This module allows the user to access the 3D geometries of components in the MB Building Kit System and to integrate these into his design drawing. The components can be positioned in a 3D environment without lengthy coor- dinate specifications/calculations: Generating a 3D construction with this function is as simple as the assembly work itself. > Parts list (fully automatic) All 3D components are integrated fully automatically into the parts list which can be integrated into the drawing or the MB Catalogue/Product Master Guide program. > MB Product Master Guide This program allows the user to search for information on components of the MB Building Kit System and to draw up parts lists and/or order lists. > Networking Networking is possible, as are user-specific adaptations. You can get a first idea of the program if you start CD :\MBFACAD\ENGLISH\MANUAL\DEMO.EXE within WINDOWS. To 2nds "MB Product Master Guide" --------------------------------- The MB Product Master Guide facilitates the search for information on components in the MB Building Kit System and the preparation of parts lists and/or order lists. The data are also available in ASCII, EBCDIC and EXCEL format for exporting the MB Article Data to other programs. To 3rds "MB CAD Parts Library" ------------------------------ The MB CAD Parts Library allows the user to export the 2D and 3D geometries of components in the MB Building Kit System to other CAD systems. Data are made available in DWG, DXF and IGES format for this purpose. II. Installation notes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To 1sts "MB for AutoCAD" ------------------------ The program can be copied to your hard disk completely (you need approx. 85 MBytes free space on HD) or partially (you need only 1 MByte free space) where all needed program files will be loaded from CD during runtime. Now you can use the application with AutoCAD -------------------------------------------- To start "MB for AutoCAD" under WINDOWS or DOS use the command "MENU" and choose the menu file e.g. C:\EAITEM\DEUTSCH\MENUE\EAITEM.MNU The system is initialized, so you can do first steps. Invoking of MB for AutoCAD automatically from the main menu ----------------------------------------------------------- Invoking MB for AutoCAD from the main menu: Enter the following line in the desired main menu area (e.g. ACAD.MNU) (e.g.***BUTTON and/or ***TABLET if using a digitizer ***SCREEN and/or ***POPx if using a mouse): [MB-Start]^C^C^P_.menu C:/EAITEM/ENGLISH/MENU/EAITEM Refer to the AutoCAD User Manual for general information. Please use "/" instead of the usual "\". Do you have any problems with starting the program please do the following 1. If the program start is not correct -------------------------------------- Check the file EAITEM.INI. This file normally is written during installation. With AutoCAD 12 the file is in the main directory e.g.: C:\ACADWIN oder C:\ACAD. With AutoCAD 13 or 14 the file is in the directory e.g.: C:\EAITEM\ENGLISH\MENU. Is that file not present please create it with the following contents After fullinstalltion: [PATH] EAITEM_D=C:\EAITEM\ENGLISH\DAT EAITEM_M=C:\EAITEM\ENGLISH\MENU EAITEM_N=C:\EAITEM [COMMANDS] EAITSORT=C:\EAITEM\ISORT.EXE EAITKAT=C:\EAITEM\ENGLISH\CATALOG\ITEMKAT.EXE [MENUS] MAINMENU=ACAD MENU0= MENU1= MENU2= MENU3= MENU4= MENU5= MENU6= MENU7= MENU8= MENU9= TABMENU1= TABMENU2= TABMENU3= TABMENU4= TABMENU5= After partinstalltion: [PATH] EAITEM_D=X:\MBFACAD\ENGLISH\DAT EAITEM_M=C:\EAITEM\ENGLISH\MENU EAITEM_N=X:\MBFACAD [COMMANDS] EAITSORT=D:\MBFACAD\ISORT.EXE EAITKAT=C:\EAITEM\ENGLISH\CATALOG\ITEMKAT.EXE [MENUS] MAINMENU=ACAD MENU0= MENU1= MENU2= MENU3= MENU4= MENU5= MENU6= MENU7= MENU8= MENU9= TABMENU1=ACAD.TABLET1STD TABMENU2=ACAD.TABLET2STD TABMENU3=ACAD.TABLET3STD TABMENU4=ACAD.TABLET4STD TABMENU5= - The line MAINMENU= contains the name of your main application menu file. Normally this is the AutoCAD menu file so you can leave ACAD as it is. - To the lines MENUx= you can add menu groups. They will be loaded automatically by starting the item application (e.g. MENU0=MENU0=D:\R13\win\support\rtpanzm ). - At the line TABMENUx= you can add tablet parts of your application (e.g. TABMENU1=ACAD.TABLET1STD ). Instead of X: insert your CD-drive letter C:\EAITEM is the path where your installation path was. 2. If parts list program is not running. ---------------------------------------- Please check if in a directory of AutoCAD ( e.g. C:\R13\DOS\SUPPORT or C:\R13\COM\SUPPORT ) the file ACAD.PGP exists with the following line: EAITSHELL,,0,*, Does this line not exist please insert the above. Hints to GENIUS 13 -------------------- Using the application GENIUS 13 please mention the following to invoke our application from within the GENIUS appliocation Change to the directory C:\GENIUS\GEN\MNU\ACAD.
